Who we are
Network Toolbox by SiggySoft is made by SiggySoft LLC (www.siggysoft.org). Send privacy questions to contact@siggysoft.org.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It makes no background network connections and sends nothing to SiggySoft.
What the app uses on your phone, and why
- Internet access: to run the diagnostic tools you choose (ping, traceroute, port scanning, DNS queries, WHOIS lookups, TLS connections, HTTP requests, speed tests, Wake-on-LAN packets). Traffic goes only to the hosts and ports you specify.
- Network state and Wi-Fi state: to show your current connection details on the dashboard (IP address, gateway, DNS servers, Wi-Fi SSID and link speed).
- Multicast (Wi-Fi): for LAN discovery and Wake-on-LAN broadcasts on the local network.
- Notifications: reserved for future use (background scan completion); the app does not currently send notifications.
All diagnostic results stay on the phone. The app sends network traffic only to the addresses you enter.
Where your data is kept, and for how long
App settings and saved Wake-on-LAN devices are stored in the app's own storage on your phone. They stay until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. No data is stored on any SiggySoft server.
If your phone's own backup is turned on (Android backup to your Google account), that backup can include the app's settings and restore them to a new phone. Those backups belong to your Google account. SiggySoft never receives them.
When information leaves your phone
Only when you run a tool. Each tool sends packets to the host or port you specify: ICMP echo requests (ping), UDP packets (traceroute, DNS), TCP connections (port scanner, WHOIS, TLS, HTTP, speed test), or UDP broadcasts (Wake-on-LAN). The app makes no other network connections.
When you e-mail us
If you email contact@siggysoft.org, we receive your email address and message. We use them only to answer you and to fix or improve the app, and delete them when that work is done or sooner if you ask.
How the data is protected
Android keeps each app's storage private from other apps. The app stores no data on any server. Android encrypts its cloud backups end to end on Android 9 and newer. Email you send us is kept in SiggySoft's Microsoft 365 business mailbox and is not shared with anyone else.
Children
The app collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Questions: contact@siggysoft.org.
