Pinball by MiddleSiggy Privacy Policy

For Pinball by MiddleSiggy (called MiddleSiggy's Pinball until version 1.4.0, and Siggy Pinball before version 1.0.2) on Android and iPhone, published by SiggySoft LLC. Effective 2026-10-29.

Who we are

Pinball by MiddleSiggy is made by SiggySoft LLC (www.siggysoft.org). Send privacy questions to contact@siggysoft.org.

What stays on your phone

The game saves its settings, the highest level you reached, your best score and a list of your ten best games in its own storage on the phone. If you join the leaderboards, it also saves your leaderboard name, the random player number the server gave it, the key it signs its requests with, and the results of up to ten games waiting to be sent while the phone is offline. Uninstalling the game deletes all of it. If your phone backs up apps (Android backup to your Google account, or iCloud), the backup can include these files; those backups belong to your account and SiggySoft never receives them.

Holiday reminders

Since version 1.5.0 the tables dress up for holidays, worked out from the date on your phone. If you turn on holiday reminders (Settings, or the question after your first game), the game asks your phone for permission to show notifications and schedules one for the morning each holiday's tables start. Your phone keeps the schedule and shows the reminders by itself; nothing about them is sent to SiggySoft or anyone else. Turning the reminders off in Settings, or turning off notifications for the game in the phone's settings, stops them.

What leaves your phone

Nothing, unless you join the leaderboards. The game has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it carries no advertising, analytics or tracking code from any company. The privacy policy and MiddleSiggy buttons open web pages in your phone's browser.

The age question

Before showing the online leaderboards, the game asks for the month and year you were born. The answer is used on the phone to tell whether you are 13 or older, and only that yes or no is kept, on the phone. It is never sent. If you are under 13, the game makes no internet connection at all and your scores stay on the phone.

If you join the leaderboards

Joining is your choice, made on a screen that lists what is sent. Nothing is sent before you agree on that screen. Then, while you pick a name, the game asks the server which name each pick would get; that request carries only the two numbers standing for the two words (and your player number if you are changing the name of an existing player). Names are unique: the first player to pick two words gets them as they are, and the next one gets them with a number, such as Lucky Comet 2.

When you join, the game sends the name you picked (two numbers standing for two words from a fixed list), whether you play on Android or iPhone, and the game's version number. The server answers with a random player number, a key, and the name as it will show on the boards. After each finished game, the game sends:

  • the score, the level you reached and the level you started on, the season, and how many seconds the game lasted;
  • a count of the shots made (bumpers, lanes, ramps and the like);
  • the game's replay: the random number the game started from and the moments you pressed each flipper and the launcher. The server plays the game again from it and puts the score on the boards only if the replay ends with the same score. The replay is deleted as soon as that check has run, which is normally within a second; if the check cannot run straight away, the replay waits on the server until it does;
  • the game's version number and a random number for that game, so a game sent twice counts once.

When you open the leaderboards, the game downloads them; once you have joined, that request carries your player number so the board can show your place. The boards, in the game, at www.siggysoft.org/apps/pinball/leaderboard/ and at www.siggysoft.org/leaderboards/, show each player's leaderboard name, best score, the level reached and how many places they moved since the previous period, and nothing else. Anyone can search those boards by leaderboard name.

Your internet address

Like every website, siggysoft.org receives your internet (IP) address with each request. The leaderboard service does not store it with your name or your scores. To slow down abuse, it keeps a scrambled code made from the address and a random key that changes every day; each day's key is deleted after two days, and from then on the code cannot be traced back to an address. Our web server records leaderboard requests in its log without the address. Our firewall keeps its own security log of connections, which does record addresses; it is used only to protect our network and is never matched with leaderboard records.

How we use it

We use leaderboard data to run the boards, to keep made-up, impossible or abusive scores off them (by replaying each game and by checking the shot counts and scoring rate), and to find problems in the game. The random player number is used only to keep your scores together, to stop abuse, and to let you delete your scores. We do not sell or share any of it, and none of it is used for advertising.

How long we keep it

Each game's result is kept for 400 days, except your best score on each board, which stays while you play. A game's replay is deleted once the server has checked it. If the game does not contact the leaderboards for two years, your player record and every score are deleted. When you stop sharing, they are deleted at once.

Deleting your data

In the game, open Settings and tap Stop sharing and delete my scores. The server deletes your player record and every score straight away, and the game forgets its player number and key. If you no longer have the game, follow the steps on www.siggysoft.org/apps/pinball/delete-data.html.

How the data is protected

Every request travels over HTTPS and is signed with your key, so it cannot be changed on the way or sent by someone else as you. The keys are stored on SiggySoft's server encrypted with a key that belongs to the site, and the leaderboard records are kept outside the site's public web pages, readable only by SiggySoft staff.

Children

Pinball by MiddleSiggy is not made for children, and the online leaderboards are for players 13 and older. A player who says they are younger keeps everything on the phone. If you believe a child under 13 has joined the leaderboards, email contact@siggysoft.org with the leaderboard name and we will delete the record.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, for example when the game adds a way to tip the developer, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Questions: contact@siggysoft.org.
